Stream Overview
The Commerce stream at IMS Classes provides thorough board exam preparation for 11th and 12th standard students. Our focus is on building deep conceptual understanding in Accountancy, Economics, Business Studies, and Organisation of Commerce & Management (OCM) -- the subjects that form the foundation for careers in chartered accountancy, company secretaryship, BBA, MBA, and business management.
While the Commerce stream does not include competitive exam integration (unlike our PCM and PCB programmes), it follows the same rigorous teaching methodology: 2 dedicated teachers per subject, chapter-wise daily testing, and a results-driven approach that ensures students are not just prepared for exams but genuinely understand the material.
Subjects Covered
Accountancy
The backbone of the Commerce stream. From journal entries and ledger accounts to final accounts, partnership accounting, and company accounts. Our approach emphasises practical problem-solving alongside theoretical understanding. Two Accountancy teachers ensure students develop both speed and accuracy.
Economics
Micro and Macro Economics covered with real-world examples. Demand-supply analysis, national income, money and banking, and government budgets are taught with a focus on conceptual clarity that goes beyond rote memorisation.
Business Studies
Business environment, forms of business organisation, management principles, and financial markets. Taught with an emphasis on application-based answers that score higher in board exams.
OCM (Organisation of Commerce & Management)
Trade, transport, banking, insurance, and emerging modes of business. OCM bridges theory and real-world commerce, and our teaching approach uses contemporary examples to make concepts memorable and exam-relevant.

Does the Commerce stream include any competitive exam preparation?
The Commerce stream is focused entirely on Maharashtra HSC board exam preparation. Unlike our Science streams (PCM/PCB), there is no integrated competitive exam component. However, the strong Accountancy and Economics foundations we build are directly useful for CA Foundation, CS Foundation, and various entrance exams for BBA/BMS programmes.
What makes IMS Commerce coaching different from college lectures?
College lectures cover the syllabus, but they rarely test understanding chapter by chapter, provide individual feedback, or teach board exam answer-writing techniques.
